    A fast, consistent way to define nearby

    A radius answers a distance question. It is useful when the same geometric threshold must be applied everywhere, independent of roads or travel mode.

    Keep the distance fixed, move the center and compare like with like across possible locations.

    Open the same zone in the analysis panel to review available population and age-structure context.

    What the calculation does

    1. Build the boundary. Horizon Mapper draws a geodesic circle from the selected coordinates and distance.
    2. Read the population layer. The zone is compared with the selected gridded population estimate or projection.
    3. Open the evidence. The map and statistics panel expose the resulting zone for inspection and comparison.

    Need to know who can actually reach the location?

    Roads, paths, bridges and barriers do not follow a circle. Switch to a travel-time catchment when accessibility matters more than equal straight-line distance.
